A miniature rhodochrosite with many small, red scalenohedrons to about __ cm.  These began to trickle out in the 1980's, though these days are getting hard to find.  This is a good miniature at a very good price.

A gemmy and rather large crystal of this rare and relatively new mineral, first marketed as "Raspberry Beryl."  Due to the high cesium content, it was later discovered to be a new species.  These are only found at one locality, and the price on this one is not bad by any means.

A miniature ruby from the Hunza Valley.  This locality stopped producing shortly after the large earthquake that shook the region (though whether the two events are related I am not certain.)  When I visited Pakistan in 2006, I was only able to find a few low quality pieces.   I purchased this one way back in 2001, and recently rediscovered it in a mixed flat

An exceptional specimen for the species, from a find made around 3 years ago.  No more has been found since.  Under the intense lighting conditions used to take the photograph, some of the usually hidden redness of the metastibnite became visible.

A .8 cm vug filled with chalcotrichite from the major find a few years ago.  These have all but disappeared from the market. 

 

The nature of the specimen makes it particularly durable, as the crystals are all situated in a vug.

A cabinet specimen of scheelite on muscovite, with the main crystal measuring 1.5cm.  The crystal is a bit rougher, so this one gets sold cheaply.  Still a nice representative from the mine that has arguably produced the worlds best scheelite, and a very good price..

CLQ30 Quartz with RADIATION DAMAGE!

Here's an oddity for the quartz collectors:  a terminated crystal showing two dark orbs, where  radioactive inclusions have caused damage to the surrounding lattice.  The quartz crystal is nothing special, but the radiation damage has a definite "cooleness factor."

A cluster of descloizite from Grootfontein, one of the best localities for the species in the world.

One of the little crystal sheafs has been broken off and reattached, though given its invisibility and the number of undamaged clusters, it doesn't make too much of a difference.

A beryllium nodule.  These things are actually mixtures of opal and fluorite, and are only found at one locality worldwide.  This could be cut into at least a few nice cabs, or left as is.
