A cute little thumbnail specimen of danburite with a screw dislocation.  The crystal is terminated, but I've mounted it with the termination facing downwards as this allows the screw dislocation to be seen best.  From Anjanabonoina, purchased in the village closest to the pegmatites.

Mt. Ibity, Antsirabe 2 Dist., Vakinankaratra Region, Antananarivo Prov., Madagascar
3.0x 2.2x 1.5 cm

A very good thumbnail of Malagasy kunzite.  You see faceted examples from the country, but only rarely do you come across a crystal with good color.  This one shows excellent overall crystal form, is quite gemmy, and has a good termination.  About as good as you can hope to get for a Malagasy kunzite-- it looks more Brazilian, in terms of form (though with lighter color).

1.3x 1.15x 1.1 cm

An incredibly vivid liddicoatite crystal with a thin greenish zone in the middle.  This is what Afghans try to achieve by irradiating their tourmalines to death, and the color on this piece is STILL brighter, despite being natural.  The crystal is not complete, but it displays well from the front and the color is just incredible.

18L30 Liddicoatite Tourmaline
Mt. Ibity, Antsirabe 2 Dist., Vakinankaratra Region, Antananarivo Prov., Madagascar
2.1x 1.0x 0.75 cm
$70

A beautiful spray of incredibly vibrantly colored liddicoatite crystals from Madagascar.  A cute little thumbnail, especially for the price.  This color is what folks in Afghanistan and Pakistan irradiate pastel Paprok pieces hoping to get-- though somehow even the treated pieces never seem to match the best colors from Madagascar.  Actually, the only other area that I've ever seen remotely close coloration occur naturally is from Southern California, and even those aren't common.

18L32 Zircon
Vakinankaratra Region, Madagascar
2.0x 1.7x 1.55 cm
$38

A cute little thumbnail with a zircon crystal nicely sitting on matrix.  It's very unusual to find matrix zircons from Madagascar-- I am always offered loose crystals, but this is one of the first well formed matrix examples I have seen.  For that reason, I'm offering it here as an interesting reference, even though it is a bit on the small side.

A very well formed example of liddicotite tourmaline form Mt. Ibity.  This one is a flattened polychrome crystal that (like most) looks dark without backlighting, though you can see hits of pink and green.  With backlighting, the color is predominantly green.   The crystal is a doubly terminated floater, and an excellent example of this material.
