A nice example of scalenohedral pink/red rhodochrosite on a nicely contrasting dark matrix.  This is yet another one of those Peruvian minerals that came and went, a consequence of new mine ownership, modernized mining methods, and a pay structure for miners that was good enough that is was no longer worth it to risk being fired for taking out specimens.
